About Goshen Financial
Our Philosophy
A variation of the sad aphorism “from riches to rags in three generations” can be found in nearly every major civilization on earth, serving as a reminder of the permanent eclipse of many of the world's wealthiest family dynasties. Two thousand years ago, in China, the proverb “fu bu guo san dai” (“wealth never survives three generations”) was born. In thirteenth-century Europe, the adage translated into “clogs to clogs in three generations”. In the United States, the saying became “shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves” and, in Asia, “paddy field to paddy field” in the same three generations.
More specifically, it is traditionally the first generation that makes the family wealth, the second generation that maintains the family fortune and the third generation that loses it.

History is littered with the names of once-wealthy families whose tumbles from financial grace are testament to the fact that beating the odds against family wealth preservation, and overcoming the gravitational forces of history, is no easy task.
By learning and applying the lessons learned by other families over time, a wealthy family can prepare itself to protect and preserve its own wealth far better than if left entirely to the confines of its own limited experience.
At Goshen, we will give your wealth our closest personal attention. At the very least, you can count on us to offer a well-defined strategy with a sharp focus on responsible risk management and fundamental growth which embodies wealth preservation, the solutions that you and your family deserve.
